Road Cycling Clinic for Women
Florida Women’s Cycling Network, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and University Bicycle Center (Tampa, Florida) present Road Cycling Clinic for Women Date: Saturday, October 25, 2008 Location: Telecom Park , Tampa Florida Clinic Start: 9 am (Meet 8:45 am) Deadline for registration, October 20, 2008
This clinic will be instructed by Sharon (Penn) Monahan (National Track and Road Champion, WI and FL Multiple State Track and Road Champion); League of American Bicyclists – LCI, Cycling Coach) and Trish Cohen (CAT 1 Road, and winner of several TT and road events in Florida and Georgia) Clinic Topics • Surviving the road and maintaining your bike (Safety equipment, bicycle safety check, road laws, and defensive cycling skills). • Riding position and bike set up (Proper form from head to toes, pedaling, shifting/gear choice, and climbing) • Controlling your bike in the best and worst situations (Starting, breaking, emergency stopping, avoiding objects, basic and fast cornering) • Being confident and successful on group rides (Riding straight, drafting skills, riding in a pack and working in a group)

The clinic is $25 and includes:•3 hours of instruction, including practicing techniques (on the bike) in group riding, defensive riding, cornering skills and more•Lunch at Chipotle Mexican Grill •Gift certificates from University Bicycle Center, Tampa, Florida • Group Riding, manualWe need 10 women to hold a class. Class size is limited to 20 women. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, October 20, 2008. To register, email Barbara@floridawomencycling.net with your name and contact information (phone number). In your email, we ask that you provide brief answers to the two questions below so we can best meet your needs. You will recieve directions to the clinic when you register.
